What to expect...

These friendly classes are ideal for people new to yoga, through to those with years of experience.  The over-riding aim of each class is to ensure you leave feeling better than you arrived !

Each class has a different theme, and Kate is always happy to address specific ideas from students such as yoga for easing tight shoulders, or yoga to ease stress.  

Classes begin with a short centreing exercise, before moving onto the postures. Alternative options are provided for students who wish to practice more gently. Class always concludes with a relaxation session.  The relaxation techniques change regularly so there is bound to be something to suit you, even if you find it very difficult to relax. Each class will include postures (asana), breathing practices, pranayama, meditation and relaxation.

There is plenty of free parking at the hall.  The 437 bus route is 6 minutes walk away.
Please wear comfortable clothes, and bring a yoga mat and blanket.

YIN YOGA AND DEEP RELAXATION

Third Thursday of every month, 
7:00 - 8:30 pm
at St Bridgets Church Centre, 
St Bridgets Lane, West Kirby, WIRRAL.
£6.50 or £8.00 on the night

This new yoga class is ideal for anyone new to yin yoga, or those who have prior experience.  The class will be gentle and meditative, including pranayama (breathing practices), meditation, yin and yang yoga, before culminating with a deep relaxation.




RISE AND SHINE YOGA - Starts 28th June

9:00 - 10:00, Friday mornings
St Bridgets Church Centre, Church Rd, West Kirby
£5 drop in

A great way to start your day and weekend - yoga movements to build strength and flexibility, pranayama, meditation and relaxation.  Please bring a mat and blanket.


BEGINNERS YOGA COURSE - June - July 2019

This 5 week course is ideal for anyone who would like to find out more about yoga before joining a regular yoga class.  The course is also perfect for people who have completed the Yoga for Healthy Lower Backs course, who would like to move onto a regular class.

Friday mornings, 10:15 - 11:30 at St Bridgets Church Centre, £30.  Bookings through Eventbrite 

Course dates - 28th June, 5th July, 12th July, 19th July and 26th July.

There will be a maximum of 12 people on the course.

The course will include standing and seated postures; twists and balances; and movements to strengthen the body whilst improving flexibility.  Different breathing techniques will be explored, and a variety of relaxation techniques introduced.  The ultimate aim of the course is to give you the confidence and skills necessary to move onto a regular yoga class.

Yoga Relaxations and Meditation CD

Take time out to lie back and relax to one of the four tracks on this relaxation CD, written by and narrated by Kate Knowles.  

Featuring a variety of relaxation techniques there is something to suit everyone on the disc, even someone who finds it hard to relax:

Track 1 - A body and breath awareness relaxation (16 mins)
Track 2 - A muscle tensing and releasing relaxation (16 mins)
Track 3 - A simple seated meditation (9 mins - can also be practiced lying down)
Track 4 - About Sankalpa (1 min - advice to help you choose your sankalpa, an affirmation to bring a positive change to your life)
Track 5 - Yoga nidra (22 mins)
