What to expect...

These friendly classes are ideal for people new to yoga, through to those with years of experience.  The over-riding aim of each class is to ensure you leave feeling better than you arrived !

Each class has a different theme, and Kate is always happy to address specific ideas from students such as yoga for easing tight shoulders, or yoga to ease stress.  

Classes begin with a short centreing exercise, before moving onto the postures. Alternative options are provided for students who wish to practice more gently. Class always concludes with a relaxation session.  The relaxation techniques change regularly so there is bound to be something to suit you, even if you find it very difficult to relax. Each class will include postures (asana), breathing practices, pranayama, meditation and relaxation.

When, where and how much ?

Thursday mornings, Rise and Shine class 8:30-9:30am (£4.50) and 9:45-11:15am (£6 or £4.50 for low income), Chair based class £4.50
Newton Village Hall, Grange Cross Lane, West Kirby, CH48 8BJ 
There is plenty of free parking at the hall.  The 437 bus route is 6 minutes walk away.
Please wear comfortable clothes, and bring a yoga mat and blanket.

YIN YOGA AND DEEP RELAXATION

Starting on the 18th April 2019 and
on the third Thursday of every month, 
7:00 - 8:30 pm
at St Bridgets Church Centre, 
St Bridgets Lane, West Kirby, WIRRAL.
£6.50 or £8.00 on the night

This new yoga class is ideal for anyone new to yin yoga, or those who have prior experience.  The class will be gentle and meditative, including pranayama (breathing practices), meditation, yin and yang yoga, before culminating with a deep relaxation.

CHAIR BASED YOGA CLASS

Starting on Thursday 9th May 2019, 11:30 - 12:30 at Newton Village Hall, Grange Cross Lane, West Kirby.
Ideal for any one who prefers not to get onto the floor, has mobility problems, is convalescing or just wants to take it easy.  Most of the exercises will be seated in the chair, with movements to strengthen the body and improve flexibility.  A few standing movements may be incorporated into the class, depending on the requirements of those attending.  Classes will also include breathing exercises to improve stamina, and assist in relaxation.  The class will culminate in a seated relaxation.
There is plenty of parking available immediately outside the hall, and step free access is available.


Yoga Relaxations and Meditation CD

Take time out to lie back and relax to one of the four tracks on this relaxation CD, written by and narrated by Kate Knowles.  

Featuring a variety of relaxation techniques there is something to suit everyone on the disc, even someone who finds it hard to relax:

Track 1 - A body and breath awareness relaxation (16 mins)
Track 2 - A muscle tensing and releasing relaxation (16 mins)
Track 3 - A simple seated meditation (9 mins - can also be practiced lying down)
Track 4 - About Sankalpa (1 min - advice to help you choose your sankalpa, an affirmation to bring a positive change to your life)
Track 5 - Yoga nidra (22 mins)
