Menopause Yoga

Menopause yoga classes are exclusively for women. Joining together in a small group, we will explore different themes from week to week to consider the myriad of ways that menopause can affect a woman. Whilst menopause is often viewed as a taboo subject, these classes will give women an opportunity to discuss their experiences in a nurturing and supportive environment. 

We will use a variety of yogic techniques to equip ourselves with skills to help ride the rollercoaster that can be menopause. 

Women of any age are welcome to join the class if they feel they have menopausal symptoms, so feel free to come along whether you're 20 or 100. All that's needed is a willingness to participate in whichever way suits you.  The classes are suitable for beginners, and any woman with an interest in optimising her health and wellbeing in the post-menopausal years.

We will cover a variety of topics from week to week, including the many menopause symptoms and consider ways that yoga might help ease these symptoms.  We will also consider how yoga can help protect and enhance our health during the aging process.

9th November 2020 - Pelvic health and the menopause

16th November 2020 - Nutrition to support you through menopause

23rd November 2020 - Bone health 

30th November 2020 - Sleep and fatigue

7th December 2020 - Hot flushes - can yoga help ?

14th December 2020 - Looking after your heart

21st December 2020 - extended yoga nidra to see you through the festive season !

We will also consider other aspects of menopause, including lifestyle, nutrition and medication.

Each class will work as a stand alone class. However, you might like to book several classes to gain the maximum knowledge, experience and understanding of how yoga might help.

Classes will run at on Zoom while Wirral is in Tier 3.

Please bring your yoga mat, block, belt and 2 pillows.

In October 2019 Kate attended the Sacred Feminine yoga retreat at the Yoga Mandala Ashram with Reva.  It was clear during the weekend how much of a need and desire there is for women to share their experiences, and learn from one another.  A group of women spending time together can be an incredibly empowering and nurturing experience.

Kate aims to provide these opportunities to the women of north west England, but also further afield through Zoom.


In September 2020 Kate is undertaking Menopause Yoga teacher training with Petra Coveney, which will cover the ways in which yoga can help women in this stage of life, moving from peri-menopause, menopause and post-menopause.  

In October 2021, Kate is attending the Well Woman Yoga Teacher Training course with Francoise Freedman from Birthlight - this was supposed to be in October 2020, but has been postponed. 

Kate is really looking forwards to starting specialist classes to support women, covering topics such as bone strength, heart health, hormone balance, nutrition, hot flushes, insomnia and pelvic floor health amongst others.
