Covid guidelines - from Aug 2021

Before a face to face class – covid guidelines

If you are double jabbed for covid, but develop any symptoms before or after a class, please do a lateral flow test to ensure that you don’t have covid. If you test positive, please let me know.

If you have NOT had both vaccines, please do a lateral flow test before class, whether or not you have any symptoms. If it shows positive, please don't come to class.

Attending face to face classes

Please arrive about 5-10 mins before class, bringing your yoga mat, blanket, block and belt. You might like to bring a cushion/pillow too.

Please ensure you have completed the Health Questionnaire before attending class, and contact Kate if you have any queries.

Class sizes have been reduced in line with safe distancing rules.

If you cannot attend a class, you can transfer your booking through the Bookwhen system, or please let me know.

Please be respectful to your fellow students. Maintain social distancing guidelines.

I will endeavour to ensure that doors are open before the class starts to minimise the need for you to touch handles etc, and also to ensure the venue is well ventilated.

Bring your own water - there is no access to the kitchen area

Take your place in the studio/hall as soon as you can to create your own little bubble.

TICKET TRANSFERS - you can transfer your booking up to 48 hours before the class starts. Click on the booking reference on your confirmation email - then click on ticket options, "Transfer", and select the class and date that you'd like to swap to. Please ask if you get stuck - I'm happy to help out.

Terms and Conditions - The legal bit

Its important to me to ensure the viability of classes and events. I would love to be able to teach for free but this isn't possible, so I need to ensure that the yoga classes and events are economically viable whilst maintaining a price structure that is fair. Please remember I am a yoga teacher - not an accountant !

The majority of bookings are made through the Bookwhen booking system.  This ensures that the class schedule is kept updated, but please check if you think you spot a mistake on the system.

Once you've made a booking you will receive an email confirmation of your booking.  If you need to change your booking, you should be able to do so through the system.  Again, please contact Kate if you have any difficulties.

To secure your place on a Course or Event that is not on the Bookwhen system, please arrange payment within a week of booking to guarantee your place. If payment is not received within this time your place may be allocated to someone else. I will confirm receipt of your payment with a text or email.

Refunds cannot be given for the Beginners Course or YHLB course. If you miss a class on the Beginners or YHLB course I will send you a recording of the class or its equivalent.

If I have to cancel an Event I will offer a full refund.

If I have to cancel a lesson within a Course I will re-arrange the lesson - if the re-arranged date does not suit you I will offer a full refund for the missed lesson(s).

If you are unable to attend an Event please provide as much notice as possible, and I will try to allocate your place to another person so that I can issue a refund of 50% of the cost of the Event.

If you are attending the Sacred Self Care Retreat it is recommended that you take out holiday insurance in the event that you are unable to come.

If you have any questions about the pricing or T&C's please ask - I strive to be open and fair, and welcome suggestions that would lead to improvements.

Disclaimer for online classes

Due to the nature of online teaching, or recorded classes, it is impossible for the teacher to see everyone in the class all of the time, so Kate cannot accept any responsibility, nor can she be held responsible, for anything that you choose to do with your body in the comfort of your own home. By booking onto an online class from the Yoga with Kate website, or watching a recorded class, you are entering into a contract whereby you agree to take full responsibility for yourself during your participation in all online classes. Yoga is a method of self enquiry in which the responsibility lies firmly with the practitioner to ascertain what they should or should not be doing by paying close attention to how they feel. You are strongly advised to listen to your body, to rest whenever your breathing feels laboured, or you feel tired, and to let Kate know if you have any medical issues either by email before each class, or by using the chat facility in the online meeting space 10 minutes before the class starts. Kate cannot be held responsible for any failure on behalf of any internet providers.

(I'm sorry about the official nature of the above disclaimer, but it is an essential requirement of our insurance, and its also important because online teaching is different from face to face teaching. The yoga classes Kate teaches are fairly gentle, so as long as you pay attention to what is happening in your body during the class, the chances of anything going wrong are really tiny ! But please do ask if you have any queries).
